Marion Baptist Association is a network of Baptist Churches that chose to cooperate together for ministry, accountability, evangelism, and strategic and healthy church growth. We stand ready to come alongside the local church with opportunities to connect in leadership development, church planting, and mission engagement in central Florida and beyond. We celebrate our diversity and our commitment to work together to mobilize believers across the nations.
What We Believe
The Southern Baptist Convention has prepared a statement of generally held convictions called The Baptist Faith and Message. It serves as a guide to understanding who they are and what they believe. As an Association that is voluntarily affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention of churches, we present this as our statement of belief which can be viewed on this website: http://www.sbc.net/bfm2000/bfm2000.asp
Our Purpose:
Marion Baptist Association is an entity to serve and assist member churches in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Our Vision:
We strive to see a day when everyone living in Marion and contiguous counties has heard the Gospel message of Jesus Christ, when believers in Christ are discipled and sent out by local churches, and when local churches are multiplying disciples, leaders, groups and churches. (Acts 19:10)
Our Priorities:
Centrality of the Gospel
Collaboration among churches
Church health
Our Core Values:
Love and Truth - And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22: 37-40)
Power and Faith - But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
Wisdom and Compassion - If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1:5)
Knowledge and Justice - and I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in us for the sake of Christ. (Philemon 1:6)
