Marion baptist Association member churches demonstrate their love for God and people through the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The word "gospel" simply means "good news". The good news is that God came to earth in the form of a human person, named Jesus Christ. Jesus lived among us, was tempted by satan, crucified on on the cross and arose from the dead after three days in the tomb. He ascended into Heaven and will return to earth. By dying on the cross, he paid for our sin so that we can receive forgiveness and be redeemed by God. First Baptist Church of Wiersdale
First Baptist Church of Weirsdale hosted their first Back to School Bash on July 27th. We are a small rural church who is starting to grow. There was a point where we had under 20 in attendance
To now averaging on 60-70 on a Sunday morning. Even though we have seen growth we are still small. We felt the leading to host this back-to-school bash to meet the needs of out community. Not only would we have a party for the children in our area to celebrate their return to school we were also providing back packs and school supplies to all those who pre-registered. Quickly we went from 10 children on the list to 180 on the list. This made our church a little nervous. How would we provide for all these children?  It seemed impossible but what’s impossible for man is possible for God. We continued to answer this large call in faith and before we knew it God was able to take our small loaves and fish and provide for all 180 children with extra to spare. But with such a small church how will we be able to host this event with over 300 people planning on coming. Well, we may be small in numbers, but we serve a mighty God! We had close to 345 people at this event. We had bounce houses, water slides, free haircuts, and even a chance to dunk the Pastor. We fed over 340 people with delicious BBQ pork and burgers and even had enough cotton candy to provide all the children! We were able to pray over 180 children getting ready to go back to school. We have 180 families now that each of our church members can be praying for. And the greatest joy for me as a Pastor was getting to see this congregation come together and come alive to serve our God. The only question left on this church’s mind now is what can we do next? Please pray for our church as we follow the lead of the Lord to start ministries in order to serve the needs of our community.

- 10’s of thousands of hours serving our community.
We’re convinced our communities should be better places because we are part of them. Our primary goal is to represent Jesus well and extend a helping hand to those in need.Â
We achieve this by consistently demonstrating our generosity of time and money, and by partnering with local non-profits to address the issues of housing and homelessness, at-risk children, and hunger.
